LG to Introduce Smart Refrigerator, Smart Oven, Smart Laundry, Smart Vacuum in 2013

LG announced during CES 2013 that it will release 27 models of new appliances this year, many of which will include smart functionality, which means you’ll be able to purchase a refrigerator, an oven, a vacuum or a washing machine that’s capable of interacting with your smartphone.
Presumably, you’ll be able to see the status of your washer machine directly on your phone, keep track of groceries in your fridge, and tell your vacuum when to start cleaning up all that dust on the hardwood floors — all without having to touch any of those appliances directly.
Imagine, for example, setting the oven to pre-heat itself on Thanksgiving because you know you’ll need to drop the turkey in soon. You’ll be able to do that while speaking with the family in the living room. We’ll do our best to try to show you how this all works shortly.
