Judge Lucy Koh recently ruled that Samsung cannot hide data related to the sales figures for several of its mobile devices in an ongoing case with Apple. The Korean manufacturer is currently trying to appeal an earlier order related to the release of information, Bloomberg explained, and wanted the sales figures to remain sealed off from Apple as well.
“Samsung’s appeal involves pricing information and profit margins,” Koh ruled recently, noting that the data only reveals sales on a “number of units sold in each of several recent months.” Koh also recently decided to block both Apple and Samsung from sealing off other data, Bloomberg said, although it’s unclear what that information concerned.
A jury ruled in favor of Apple in August, when it found that Samsung infringed on several of the iPhone maker’s patents. The two companies remain locked in various courtroom battles around the globe.
