LG is fighting for an injunction against sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 in South Korea. The device is not to be confused with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, which Apple tried to ban (and did successfully ban) in several countries around the world.
“Through this action, LG Display seeks to completely stop the sale, manufacture, and importation of [the] infringing Samsung product,” LG said in a statement obtained by Dow Jones Newswires. The South Korea-based company is also filing for $933,000 in damages from Samsung for each day that Samsung does not comply with its orders. Samsung called the claims “unjustified” and recently filed its own lawsuit against LG for infringing on patents related to LCD panels.
LG believes Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 employs patented technology to increase the viewing angles on the tablet.
