We’re just a couple of weeks from the annual Consumer Electronics Show where, apparently, we might have a chance to learn more about Sony’s first phablet, the Xperia Z. The device has also been referred to as the Yuga, its current codename.
According to ePrice, Sony is gearing up to show the phone off to the world for the very first time, and could launch as soon as mid-January. We’re also hoping that a U.S. launch date is clarified, especially if the phone is indeed announced in the U.S.
Recent leaks have suggested the phone will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and wil.l feature a large 5-inch display with a 1080p resolution, 2GB of RAM, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, a 12-megapixel camera, HDMI-out and more. The phone will also allegedly be resistant to both water and dust.
Are you ready for Sony’s phablet? Do you think it will out-spec the similarly sized DROID DNA?
