Google Play Books Gets New Read Aloud Functionality, Pinch-to-Zoom

By | 3

google-play-booksGoogle Play Books now offers a Read Aloud functionality, along with a few other features that make the application more powerful overall. The new utility allows users to listen to (most) books, though in a robotic monotone not too dissimilar to how Siri sounds. It’s obviously not like listening to an actual human being read, but it gets the job done for those in a pinch and who may be driving or walking.

Additionally, pinch-to-zoom and double-tap-to-zoom are present, allowing users to better navigate their favorite books. Everything being addressed seems like a natural progression for the application, and improves the experience on the whole. The update is available now, just in time for a nice holiday break.
