Nokia CEO: Exciting Things Planned for Verizon

Under the tenure of Stephen Elop, Nokia has changed; the company’s approach, philosophies and ultimately, culture. The company ditched Symbian, a longstanding go-to for early Nokia handsets, and instead jumped in bed with Windows Phone. And while it hasn’t been a blockbuster year for sales—not the way it’s been for Apple, or Android—Nokia is confident it can really make an impact in 2013.
In a Q&A with CNET, Elop answers important questions about how Nokia has changed under his tutelage, why Nokia chose Windows Phone and offered a small teaser for what’s to come down the road. Of particular interest is what was revealed when Elop talked about AT&T’s Lumia 920 exclusivity.

Elop goes on to say that, down the road, there might be a similar opportunity with other operators. When asked about Verizon specifically, Elop said Nokia is planning some very exciting things for the carrier, but stopped short of saying what that might be. A follow up to the 920? A phone with more advanced PureView technology? The people demand to know.
