Muramasa: The Demon Blade was a hidden gem from Japanese developer Vanillaware that released exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. Ignition Entertainment brought the game to North America, while Rising Star Games made it available in Europe.
It was not a massive success at retail, despite the overwhelmingly positive critical reception it received from review outlets. Muramasa: The Demon Blade was a wonderful sidescroller that combined gorgeous art with solid gameplay mechanics. Its story spanned hours of play, and the upgrade system was unique enough to warrant exploration.
The game is getting a PS Vita port in Japan in March of 2013. The port has not been announced for any region aside from the land of the rising sun, but perhaps enough discussion about it online might get would-be publishers to push it out internationally.
