We have great news for Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy S III owners: the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be rolling out to your devices starting tomorrow, Dec. 14. The update also activates the phone’s ability to run on international GSM networks, which means you now have a global ready smartphone.
If you’re unaware, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean offers excellent performances, thanks to Google’s “Project Butter,” and it also provides the amazing Google Now information engine, a new notification panel and Google Search, which is comparable to Apple’s Siri engine.
The update will also make the Galaxy S III Verizon’s next ISIS-ready smartphone. ISIS is a joint venture between Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T that will eventually act as a mobile payment solution, but it’s currently only being tested in Austin and Salt Lake City.
