First of all, if you haven’t experienced the 2D platforming glory that is Rayman Origins available on just about every platform known to man, you really should. This gem was one of the best games to release in 2011, and it ranks as one of my favorite titles for this entire hardware generation.

The sequel to Rayman Origins is Rayman Legends, and it’s a Wii U exclusive. Ubisoft was initially set to release the game at the consoles launch, but the company elected to push the street date back a little further in order to give the game more polish. Rayman Legends will now drop on February 26th, 2013.

It’s a great game. I’ve had the good fortune of playing it several times since last June at a whole manner of press events. But, starting today, you won’t need to take the word of critics as the only measure of this title’s potential quality. Wii U owners will be able to fire up their console and snag the Rayman Legends demo from the eShop.

Grab the demo and check it out. It’s free, of course, so do it.
