Sometimes technology can be used for the greater good. Other times, it’s just a vehicle for sheer stupidity.

Case in point: Criminals bragging about their crimes online is becoming something of a trend. Then again, maybe that’s not such a bad thing, if the perps themselves provide the best case against them — complete with evidence — like 19-year-old Hannah Sabata did on YouTube.

It was all fun and games when the Nebraska girl posted a video of herself showing off her illicit loot — including about $6,256 in cold hard cash from an armed bank robbery.

What was going through her mind? Well marijuana, for one, as the caption describes the weed she’s smoking onscreen. Then, in case you were at all confused about Sabata’s bad-girl image, she held up signs gloating about her score. (They were all mirrored, so the brainiac’s signs showed up backward.) Some of the captions read, “I told my mom today was the best day of my life. She just thinks I met a new boy.”

In the 7+ minute clip, she cops to stealing things from a car, as well as actually stealing a car — in addition to the bank robbery and drug use, of course. According to the vid, she provided a tearjerker of an explanation for her crimes — it was because “the government stole my baby,” and charged her with neglect. News flash: This video doesn’t help your cause, kiddo.

Predictably, the police picked up Sabata on Wednesday, and when they slapped the cuffs on her, she was wearing the outfit that she had on in the video — which was the same one she wore when the security cams recorded her at the bank.

Just when you think “sharing” has gone far enough, in comes this stupid twist to really make you question the general intelligence of mankind.
