HTC introduced a number of pretty great handsets in 2012, keeping a level of consistency in its One line while offering the beastly DNA. But those were merely starters, appetizers of what’s to come. We might see something amazing in the first quarter of 2013.
According to a Focus Taiwan report, HTC is nearing production of a device named M7 — a new flagship device that’ll outdo anything and everything currently available. The company is currently wrapping up semiconductor and casing deals, with plans to manufacture 4 to 5 million handsets.
There are zero details of what the M7 might be. Speculation pegs this one to be bigger than even the DNA, and possibly see an announcement at Mobile World Congress in February. With news of Samsung’s Galaxy S IV swirling, it’s not all that surprising to hear of companies like HTC trying to come up with an answer.
