Wondering what all the fees and charges are on your wireless bill? It can often be daunting to scroll through text trying to figure out why you owe what you do each month, especially if you have overage fees. AT&T has introduced a way that it hopes will help customers understand what they are being billed for, and why, in an effort no doubt to lessen the amount of customer service calls it gets.
The service is called, simply enough, Video Bill, and it provides a way for new and upgrading AT&T customers with automatically-generated and personalized video snipped with computer animation and voice narration. “The video bill is not a generic overview,” AT&T said, “but a line-by-line visual and audio tour of your individual charges, emailed directly to you and also available when you log in to your myAT&T account online.”
AT&T first deployed the service in the Mountain Time Zone a few weeks back and it hopes to spread it to all of its customers in the United States early next year. It said that more than 85% of the trial customers found the new service helpful and that, as hoped, it has reduced bill-related calls to customer service.
