Microsoft has updated its Xbox SmartGlass application for Android to introduce support for tablets with 7-inch displays. It’s sure to please those with a Google Nexus 7, who will now be able to control certain aspects of their console using their $199 slate.
If you haven’t yet discovered Xbox SmartGlass, it’s a must-have for Xbox 360 gamers. It allows you to navigate around your console’s dashboard and control certain features — such as media playback and messaging — from your smartphone or tablet. In addition to the Android app, Microsoft also has an iOS version for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
As well as support for 7-inch tablets, this update brings a number of bug fixes, addressing crashes when accessing the settings menu and entering the achievements screen.
