The HTC One VX was supposed to launch on Nov. 16, but when the time came, the device was nowhere to be found. It’s unclear why the handset has been absent from AT&T stores — it was set to launch alongside the HTC One X+, but perhaps neither company wanted the two to arrive on the same day. Whatever the case, the One VX is going to officially be available on Dec. 7, which is only a week away.
This isn’t a device that will command a huge following, or dominate sales numbers. Still, the HTC One VX on AT&T is a low-cost (only $49.99 on two-year contract) alternative to some of the more expensive devices out there. Specs include: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 4.0 (Jelly Bean and Sense 4+ will come later), 32GB of storage (microSD expandable) 4.5-inch display with qHD resolution, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and 5-megapixel camera.
See? Not so bad for just $49. If you’re not looking for an earthshaking handset and just need something that’ll perform the essential functions well, the One VX is definitely one to keep your eye on.
