Alcatel-Lucent v. Apple and LG Patent Trial Begins Today

By | +

Court

A trial will begin today in which Alcatel-Lucent is accusing both LG and Apple of infringing on several of its patents. Just like the trial between Apple and Samsung, a jury will make the final decision on whether Apple and LG are indeed guilty of patent infringement.

The suit was originally filed in 2010 and involves patents related to video compression tech, Bloomberg explained. The products in question involve several of LG’s older feature phones, including the Chocolate Touch, the Blizz, the Lotus Elite and a few others. It also involves Apple’s iPhone, MacBook, iPod and iPad, Bloomberg noted.

Alcatel-Lucent is seeking royalty fees associated with the patent infringement.
