Facebook-iOS-update

Facebook issued an update to its iOS app earlier this year, which greatly improved the experience on iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches. But the company is still working hard to perfect it. It just released another new update to iOS devices, which adds a number of new features.

You can now share or re-post interesting stories that appear in your news feed, with your own comments, with just one tap. This works in very much the same way a retweet does on Twitter — if you’re familiar with those — and it’s been part of Facebook’s desktop experience for as long as I can remember.

In addition to sharing, the update allows you to tag friends in any post, comment, or photo. Simply use the @ symbol before their name, and a link to their profile will appear. Like on your desktop, tags appear in blue — rather than black — text, so they’re easy to spot.

You can now sort your news feed by ‘Top Stories’ and ‘Most Recent’ by tapping the cog next to the ‘News Feed’ link in the left sidebar. And finally, you can use Apple’s awesome Emoji icons in messages.

You can download Facebook version 5.2 from the App Store now.
