And your answer should be an astounding YES!
Half-Minute Hero is one of the highlights of the PSP’s library, a wonderful throwback to 8-bit JRPGs with a brilliant spin. A valiant hero must travel the world putting to death wave after wave of dark lords who all possess the ability to end the world in 30 seconds. Not an easy task, but with the help of a Sassy Time Goddess, maybe there is still a chance.
XSEED published the game in America back in 2009, but its sequel, Half-Minute Hero 2, has yet not been localized in any other part of the world. With the PSP all but dead in the water, fans are understandably losing hope.
Do not fret, though. Developer Marvelous Entertainment is gauging interest via Twitter as to whether people want a PC release for the long awaited sequel. The first game already got a rockin’ PC port on Steam earlier this year, and fan support for the game is still strong three years later.
Be sure to reply positively to Marvelous’ query and play the original if you haven’t gotten the chance yet. Nevermind the ridiculously generic character art. It’s all part of the big joke. This gem is leaps and bounds more fun than the biggest HD JRPGs available these days, and it’s only $10 on Steam.
