By now, you’ve probably heard that one of the most beloved franchises ever created, Star Wars, is getting yet another installment in 2015. That’s plenty of time to really get the universe right this go around. But it’s going to take a crew of truly dedicated directors, producers, actors, etc., to really convince us that Disney’s $4 billion investment was worth the money (it was).
Lucasfilm’s choice of screenwriter, announced on Friday, is perhaps the first step toward realizing a new, exciting vision when Star Wars: Episode VII finally comes out.
Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, both excellent films, writer Michael Arndt will be in charge of crafting Episode VII’s script — development discussions with Arndt have allegedly already begun, so it sounds like the universe is already taking shape. Information beyond that, as you’d imagine, is scarce. Of course, we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears close to this one.
