Full Verizon LTE Roll Out Projected for Mid-2013 Completion

By | +

Verizon Wireless GuyVerizon Wireless on Thursday said its confident it’ll have LTE fully rolled out by mid-2013, which is actually a projection that bests its own estimates. Once every switch is flipped, the carrier will actually match its 3G CDMA coverage; Verizon currently covers 80 percent of the U.S. with LTE, CFO Fran Shammo said — last inventory checks pegged almost 15 million LTE devices running on that network. Just about every phone today comes with LTE capabilities, so it’s not too surprising to see such an uptick in adoption. If all goes according to plan, Verizon hopes to have in the region of 300 million people slathered in an LTE zone by the end of 2014.
