Samsung has begun rolling out its Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade to the Galaxy Note 10.1 in Germany. The 300MB download comes over-the-air, and brings with it Project Butter, one of Jelly Bean’s biggest improvements, which should provide Samsung’s new tablet with a big performance boost.
It also introduces the new Google Search app and Google Now to the Galaxy Note 10.1, which was launched in the United States with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed just three months ago. It’s unclear whether the software is landing in other territories as well, but Samsung has been known to release Android updates in Germany weeks ahead of their global rollouts.
Don’t worry if your device doesn’t get the update today, then — it could take a little while.
If you’re outside of Germany and you have already received the Jelly Bean update on your Galaxy Note 10.1, be sure to let us know about it in the comments.
