It’s a huge bummer when Android devices — particularly ones from good ole Motorola — come with locked bootloaders. The very nature of Android is giving users the ability to prod and tinker. So, for example, a device like the Atrix HD, which isn’t such a bad little handset, is immediately marred by its status as bank vault locked. But a new unlocked version is coming out, Motorola announced on Tuesday, meaning people longing for the Atrix HD will get a Developer Edition with the same specifications, now with the ability to infinitely customize. Unfortunately, there is no release date or price attached to the announcement, so there’s no telling when it’ll be available.
