Virgin Mobile on Monday introduced a new budget-friendly data plan that costs just $5. It’s perfect if you don’t frequently use mobile broadband and need just a bit of data to get through the day. The new Broadband2Go plan provides 3G connectivity and 200MB of data – enough for a few hours or an entire day of light use but not for downloading movies or games, and, where it’s available, access to the carrier’s 4G network, too.

The new $5 Broadband2Go plan is compatible with Virgin Mobile’s U600 3G/4G USB stick, which costs $69.99, or its Overdrive Pro 3G/4G mobile hotspot, which costs $119.99.
