What’s going to make or break LittleBigPlanet Karting probably won’t be the custom karts and tracks built into the game. As has been the case with this franchise of Sack People, community content creation is the bread winner.
Which is exactly why I’m going to try this new racer. I played the game briefly at New York Comic Con and felt that its mechanics were slippery and almost cheap. It played like a low-budget racer, not like Mario Kart or Sonic All-Stars Racing.
I’m willing to forgive those problems entirely if the creation element in this game is up to snuff. If the community can make amazing karts and ridiculously awesome tracks, I’ll be all over LittleBigPlanet Karting.
If you buy this game, I’m looking for you to make it wonderful. Do it. The game launches tomorrow for the PlayStation 3.
