The violent beauty of Mother Nature pays no mind to highly anticipated Google Events. You know the story by now: Vicious hurricane whips into powerful force, converges with additional storms, and wreaks havoc up and down the East Coast. So Google cancels its fall barn-burner, and instead makes an informative video detailing every aspect of the new Android experience.
It’s not like we didn’t know any of the search giant’s announcement weren’t coming. Joshua Topolsky of The Verge even jokingly asks Matias Duarte, Director of Android User Experience at Google, why the interview is necessary at all since the rumors were correct. Duarte just wryly smiles.
But being right isn’t the point. There’s still plenty to discuss regarding Google’s exciting new Android portfolio, and why the Mountain View-based company chose to partner with ASUS, LG and Samsung. It’s an interesting feature, revealing why a device is designed the way it is, and the importance of build materials, including plastic.
Check out the video for a really revealing behind-the-scenes look at the Mountain View machine, including full info on the Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Android 4.2.
