Barnes & Noble has launched the Nook Simple Touch and the Nook Simple Touch GlowLight in the United Kingdom today, and you can pick them up from various electronics retailers and supermarkets for £79 (approx. $127) and £109 (approx. $175) respectively.

The devices will be on shelves in John Lewis, Argos, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Dixons, Waitrose, Blackwell’s, and Foyles stores across the U.K. from today. To coincide with their launch, Barnes & Noble is also bringing the Nook Bookstore to the U.K., offering Brits more than 2.5 million digital books.

Jamie Iannone, President of Nook Media, said that the U.K. was a “natural” place for the Nook’s expansion:

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring our award-winning products and expansive NOOK Store to the UK’s discerning customers. The NOOK brand was created for people who love literature and reading, which is why the UK was a natural place for us to begin our international expansion. Our extensive content catalog, intuitive shopping and reading experience, and breakthrough discovery tools like NOOK Channels are a perfect fit for UK digital book readers.”

Barnes & Noble is also gearing up to bring its Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets to the U.K. in late November, priced at £159 (approx. $256) and £229 (approx. $368) respectively. You can pre-order yours online starting today.
