Best Buy No Longer Listing Nokia Lumia 920 for Pre-Order

By | +

Not long after Best Buy suddenly started accepting pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920, the device has gone MIA from the retailer’s website. It was never going to last.

Even without an official carrier release date, it seemed like Best Buy wanted to get the Windows Phone 8 ball rolling early, even ahead of the OS’s official launch. The device, impressively, was listed for only $149, putting it under most entry level prices for flagship phones. The HTC Windows Phone 8X, which is still listed on Best Buy’s site, is set at $99.

I wonder if the super low price point will be a WP8 trend, a way to get consumers to hop on board. It’s certainly an immediate advantage over the popular $200 price point most devices run for, or the $300 cost of some if the bigger handsets.

In any case, the Lumia 920 is no longer listed on Best Buy’s website. No word when it’ll reappear, or if the retailer will honor any pre-orders consumers might have put in. We’ll keep our eyes peeled as we move into November, which should be full of Windows Phone 8 goodness.
