If you’ve been considering purchasing a Wii U Pro Controller for more traditional gaming on Nintendo’s upcoming system, you can add another point of merit to the list that’s pointing you towards the accessory. Amazon has listed the Pro Controller with, in the words of the product description, “a rechargeable battery that can last up to 80 hours on a single charge.”

Good gravy, that’s a lot of gameplay time on one single charge.

While Amazon does not list the battery life of the PlayStation 3′s DualShock 3 controller, their product description for the Xbox 360 controller suggests that it sports a 40 hour life.

The Wii U GamePad supposedly only allows for four or five hours of constant play, what with the screen on the controller and all. So, it might be a good idea to pick up a Pro Controller if you consider yourself the type of gamer who likes to marathon through lengthy sessions on a consistent basis.

The Pro Controller will sell at $49.99 and will be available in time for the Wii U’s launch.
