Nokia Lumia 920 Demos its Impressive PureView Camera in Low-light Situation

Nokia said its Lumia 920 with PureView tech would produce good low-light results, but this is just crazy. Gizmodo tested the 920’s camera in a dark box Nokia set up at its announcement, and then did the same thing with Samsung’s Galaxy S III and iPhone 4S. The proof is in the pudding.
Gizmodo notes that the S III’s screen brightness was turned way down, which is why it essentially looks pitch black. Apparently, the S III’s picture came in just a tad darker than the iPhone 4S. Against the Lumia 920, though, it isn’t even a contest.
There is little to no color reproduction, just a ominous dark figure that looks like it was under an orange street lamp. The 920 looks like it took a photo out in the bright of day. Nokia has really used its floating lens implementation to good use, along with the f/2.0 stop.
If these are the kind of results consumers can expect in real world settings, then folks can finally shoot indoors without worrying if a shot will be too dark.
