FujiFilm XP1 (or XF1) Adds Retro Style to the Point-and-Shoot Market

By | 2

fuji_x_compact_f1To help differentiate itself from the pack, and maybe even attract a few old dogs to the digital game, FujiFilm is allegedly preparing to infuse a very retro look to its X line. Maybe (maybe not) known as the XP1, or even the XF1, the minuscule shooter will reportedly pack an affixed zoom lens with 4x zoom, f/1.8-4.9 aperture and a control ring in the rear.

It’s quite a beautiful package, exuding style and vintage charm. But with top notch options, like the wonderful RX100 from Sony already on the market, what is this one going to offer other than looks? Don’t expect a large sensor, according to PetaPixel. “The sensor size should be pretty typical for compact cameras (i.e. you won’t find a beast in this camera.)” We’ll reserve further judgement until an official announcement is made.
