We’re here in New York City at a press event where Virgin Mobile just took the wraps off of the Samsung Galaxy Reverb, a new no-contract handset that will be available beginning in September for $249.99. The Reverb feels pretty basic, but it’s equipped with some powerful specs including a 1.4GHz processor, 4GB of onboard storage, 768MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a 4-inch display. Unfortunately, it only runs on an EVDO Rev. A 3G network, so you won’t be able to take advantage of 4G data speeds.
We like the slim, pocketable design and that it fits right in the palm of our hand, but we typically still prefer larger screens. Hey, at least it has a half-an-inch on the 3.5-inch display that the iPhone offers. If you’re interested in what you see in our gallery below, you can pre-order the device on Aug. 29.
Editor‘s Note: Pardon the lighting, it’s super dark in the event space we’re in.
