Right on cue, LG’s 84-inch 4K Ultra HD television arrives in Korea today. The set offers a stunning resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, but it also comes with a hefty price tag at ₩25 million (approx. $22,100).
If that price tag didn’t make your jaw hit the floor, then you’ll be pleased to know the set is also coming to Europe, North America, Latin America, and another Asian country in September.
When LG announced this set back in July, the company had insisted it was a limited edition offering and that only 84 would be available. It was also expected to be exclusive to Korea. It seems, however, that the company then changed its mind.
In addition to its 84-inch 3840 x 2160 display, the set boasts 3D capabilities, and a built-in 2.2 stereo speaker system.
If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, you can get a set from Toshiba with the same resolution. It has a smaller screen at 55 inches, but it also costs a great deal less at ¥750,000 (approx. $9,460).
Alternatively, look out for the rest of LG’s Ultra HDTV lineup — which will include some normal-sized sets with smaller price tags — later this year.
