Microsoft has already revealed that Windows 8 will hit retail on October 26th. The software giant has even told us how much it will cost us. Monday, we got the first look at the retail packaging for the latest Microsoft operating systems. The folks from The Verge have gotten their hands on images of what is reportedly the retail packing for Windows 8 (white) and Windows 8 Pro (black).
Simple yet elegant, Microsoft appears to have stuck with its “Windows 8 style UI.” We definitely think the box is spiffy, but it’s a bit large in an era of eco-friendly packing, but who’s to say that this won’t eventually change before its October 26 delivery date.
While we often opt for downloading software opposed to buying physical media, perhaps we can persuade a certain Buffalo to perform one of his classic unboxings when Windows 8 is released in a few more weeks.
