Sprint Expects HD Voice to Begin Rolling Out by Year’s End

By | 43

HTC EVO 4G LTE for Sprint review 009It’s been months since Sprint announced support for HD Voice alongside the HTC EVO 4G LTE, but it sounds like the service is finally ready to roll out. The company indicated on Monday that EVO 4G LTE owners can expect the much improved call quality — assuming you have access to a connection upgraded to Network Vision —  before the year is up.

From all accounts, Sprint’s HD Voice greatly improves upon the calling experience millions love to hate right now, so it’ll be exciting to see how well it works in real world settings. It’s unclear where Sprint will roll HD Voice out first, and unfortunately users shouldn’t expect wider availability until 2013 and 2014 as the carrier continues to upgrade a “critical mass” of its current network.
