Apple is a brand that has established itself as a leader in computers, smartphones and tablets. How about cars? During the Apple v Samsung trial, which is currently taking place in California, Apple’s senior vice president of marketing Phil Schiller took the stand and said that Apple has considered building a car, as well as a camera. This is according to The New York Times reporter Nick Bilton, who is on the scene.

The camera aspect seems a lot more plausible: Apple’s iOS could probably make a pretty stellar camera user interface, but the company already includes a decent 8-megapixel camera in its iPhone so it’s pretty much unnecessary at this point. But an Apple car? Or the iCar? That seems wild.

We’re imagining a complete iOS experience — the ability to display music tracks on your dashboard and the option to stream content to displays on the seat backs. Or imagine if you could plug your iPhone in and use it to power the car’s GPS system? The phone itself would provide complete connectivity inside the vehicle for local search, too.

Hm, I kind of want one now.
