The official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Verizon’s HTC Rezound is rolling out now. Unlike typical over-the-air updates, however, this one is reportedly rolling out in two stages. According to Droid-Life, the first update is just 7.1MB big and preps the Rezound for the bigger update ahead. It’s kind of like starting dinner off with an appetizer, I guess.

The second update, which rolls out after the first one has been applied, is 299MB large. That means you’ll probably want to stick to using a Wi-Fi connection so you don’t consume those valuable monthly megabytes that you pay so much for. Droid-Life said that the second update is the legitimate Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, so don’t freak out if the first one doesn’t provide Face Unlock, an improved user interface and all of the niceties that Android 4.0 offers.

Enjoy the update, we’re guessing it will be a long wait (perhaps an infinite one) until a Jelly Bean update for the Rezound is pushed out.
