Kodak Loses to Apple, RIM in Patent Suit

By | 2

Kodak has lost a patent suit against Apple and Research In Motion. Kodak originally filed a lawsuit against both Apple and RIM in 2010 when the company claimed that the two firms infringed on a patent related to how a user reviews photos snapped by a camera. Kodak, which filed Chapter 11 earlier this year, had originally hoped the suit would result in RIM and Apple paying damages, or that the ITC would leverage injunctions against products produced by both companies. Kodak plans to appeal the ruling, The Wall Street Journal said Sunday, since the patent has been upheld in court before. The Wall Street Journal said Kodak’s patents are worth roughly $2.6 billion.
