Apple’s Original Prototype iPad is Almost as Thick as Three iPad 2s

By | 1

ipad-prototype-vs-ipad-2Apple’s prototype iPad —of which we saw the mockup earlier today — is hilariously big. It looks like it was designed for some behemoth alien species with unwieldy mitts. Compared to the iPad 2, it’s just… massive, and made of the same white plastic we saw in the Cupertino company’s MacBook; it’s almost like it was being modeled after college textbooks — wide, thick and, from the looks of it, probably fairly heavy. Can you imagine carrying around a tablet of that size? It’s a good thing Apple employs plenty of quality assurance testing before its products hit the market. Otherwise… well let’s just say it’s a good thing the first consumer iPad didn’t look like this.
