Yesterday, Microsoft took the wraps off of Office 2013 for the PC, which offers a ton of new features. A trial is available for free now, but you’ll need to be running Windows 7 or Windows 8 to give it a whirl.
We reached out to Microsoft for an official comment on when Mac users might expect an update to Office as well. “When the new Office launches, we’ll deliver an update to Office for Mac 2011,” a Microsoft spokesperson told TechnoBuffalo in a statement. “With this update, Office for Mac licenses can count as part of your Office 365 Home Premium subscription. We have no further details to share today.”
Microsoft didn’t specifically state that Office 2013 will launch for Mac, but it sounds like we can expect part (or maybe all) of the features next year when Office 2013 ships to consumers and enterprise users. Microsoft said on Monday that Office 2013 is its “most ambitious release ever,” and there are plenty of features to be excited about. Have you tried the preview yet? What’s your favorite new feature?
