When you’re Tony Fadell, former Apple Senior Vice President, you never really leave the company behind. Not when you’re considered the “father of the iPod.” So it makes sense, then, that Tim Cook and co. would be interested in Fadell’s new project, Nest, which is an elegant, Wi-Fi-enabled thermostat compatible with the iPad, iPhone and yep, you guessed it, the iPod. According to reports, Apple is preparing to sell the gadget in its retail stores for $249, the same price offered in Nest’s online store. It sounds like an odd move to us, as Nest is more of a home appliance, but the thermostats are apparently already in Apple’s inventory system, 9to5Mac said, so what do we know? Perhaps we’ll hear more about it at WWDC in June.
