Best Buy Backtracks, Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE Delayed Indefinitely

HTC EVO 4G LTE for Sprint review 009

Best Buy recently promised customers that orders for the EVO 4G LTE will ship by May 23rd, but that’s no longer the case. Best Buy has updated its website to reflect that the phone is “coming soon.” Phandroid said Best Buy is already emailing customers who pre-ordered the phone alerting each one of the delay, but it hasn’t provided a concrete shipping date yet. Other third party retailers, such as Amazon, currently list the phone as “backordered.” The EVO 4G LTE and HTC One X have been delayed “due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order,” HTC said in a recent statement. The exclusion order was issued during a patent infringement suit with Apple.
