Harman Kardon sb16 - thumb

One of the biggest pains with getting good sound for your entertainment needs is how much space it typically takes up.  Luckily the folks over at Harman Kardon have come along with something that should give you the sound you want without taking over your entire family room in the process.

The recently released Harman Kardon SB 16 system consists of two parts: A sound bar and one sub-woofer.  The way the system works is you connect the sound bar to your Blu-ray player, television or gaming console where it will give you 2.1-channel sound, and then the sub-woofer works wirelessly so you can move it anywhere you want in the room.  If you’re living in a small space and just can’t see living with multiple satellite speakers, cables and a host of other issues, then this may be just what you needed.

Also cutting down on the clutter in your life, the SB 16 system can work with your TV remote so you won’t need to add another one to your collection that probably already dominates your side table.  The Sound bar also comes with wall-mounting equipment so you can lift it out of the way and not have it taking up valuable table space in front of your TV where you probably need to set other equipment as well.

The system has a suggested retail price of $600, which is comprable to other solutions out there in the market, but it’s doubtful you’ll find another that can integrate into your life this easily.  I can just picture these popping up in dorm rooms all across the country next year.
