Crackle.com is getting all the pieces in place to launch another original series, Unknown.
Of all the streaming solutions out there, the one we probably hear the least about is Crackle.com. Launched as a commercial-supported streaming service for older movies and television shows, the service has added one original series that it shares with Netflix already called The Ropes which was written, produced and directed by Vin Diesel. The newest show will be an hourlong anthology drama series entitled Unknown.
According to Deadline, the new series is will be getting some fairly sizable names working on it:
Frances Fisher (The Lincoln Lawyer), William Atherton (Life) and Taryn Manning (Hawaii Five-0) will star in installments of the thriller/horror anthology, which examines unexplained phenomena. Kevin Connolly (Entourage) will direct an episode featuring Jay R. Ferguson (Mad Men), visual effects specialist Sam Nicholson (The Walking Dead) will direct another episode featuring Christina Pickles.
The list of original programming coming to streaming media outlets is getting lengthier and lengthier, and with Hulu and Netflix already getting their original programs out there, and more in the pipeline, it seems that everyone is feeling the need to join the rush.
Crackle has been running quiet for some time now, but it appears that it is about to start grabbing a lot more attention.
