Android head Andy Rubin said in a blog post on Monday that there are now more than 850,000 Android activations daily and that there are now more than 300 million Android devices worldwide. That’s an incredible, incredible figure. In fact, Rubin said that Android’s year-on-year growth rate was more than 250%. “Last year at Mobile World Congress (MWC), we announced that there were more than 150,000 apps in Android Market,” Rubin said. “That number tripled to more than 450,000 apps today, with over one billion app downloads happening every month.” According to The Verge, Rubin also noted that the company has activated more than 12 million tablets. We’re running around like crazy here at Mobile World Congress and we’ll do our best to swing by Google’s booth to see if there’s anything new on display.
