Over the past few weeks, our own Jon Rettinger certainly hasn’t shied away from expressing his love for the Samsung Galaxy Note. Out of all the devices out there – HTC Titan, Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr – the Note is currently his phone of choice, with the 5.3-inch screen playing a big factor in that decision. Now that it’s headed stateside to AT&T with 4G LTE support, forget about it. Our editors, and even our readers, agree that it’s a device to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, Ma Bell is the only carrier the device is slated to hit. Or is it?
According to an industry analyst speaking with Examiner, the Galaxy Note may hit Verizon and Sprint during the first half of 2012, only it’ll be known as Galaxy Journal. Fitting, no? While this rumor seems to be hitting straight from left field, it wouldn’t surprise us to see this behemoth of a device find its way to more carriers. It’s surprisingly easy to use, despite its size, and it comes packing big specs to match. The prospect of seeing this with Ice Cream Sandwich in the future has us excited, too.
If the Galaxy Journal does find its way to the top three U.S. carriers, could we maybe see a trend of 5-inch smartphones in 2012? I know Jon wouldn’t protest.
Are you thinking of getting the Samsung Galaxy Note?
