Not even Samsung has an answer to the question we’ve all been asking since IFA earlier this year: Is the Samsung Galaxy Note a smartphone or a tablet? Until we get that answer, we’re referring to it as a smartphone-tablet hybrid, which is fitting considering its 5.3-inch form factor.
The device has made its TV advertising debut today in a 30-second clip that Samsung has posted to its YouTube channel. The ad showcases the device’s huge AMOLED display, its ability to easily capture and crop images, and, of course, its stylus.
The commercial features the tagline “Phone? Tablet? Feel free, it’s the Galaxy Note.” Confused? Yeah, I’m still scratching my head, too.
Despite my confusion, I think the Galaxy Note’s a pretty awesome device. I can’t quite see a need for it — it’s too big to be an everyday smartphone, but too small to be a tablet — but I still find myself lusting after one.
Following its first unveiling at IFA, the Galaxy Note is coming to an event in London tomorrow to give us Brits a chance to check out the new device before its launch on November 1.
What do you think of the Galaxy Note and its first TV ad?
