T-Mobile CMO: T-Mobile Will Not Be Getting The iPhone 5 This Year

By | 3

Much to the dismay of our own Noah Kravitz, it looks like T-Mobile won’t be seeing the iPhone 5 this year.

Company CMO Cole Brodman reportedly said “We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year” during a September 15 Town Hall for T-Mobile employees.

The statement is a bit ambiguous, and could in theory mean the carrier will be getting a different iPhone in 2011, or that it has plans to start carrying the handset in 2012. One thing we know for certain; however, is that the iPhone 5 won’t be coming to T-Mobile shelves before the end of December (although it is already available on T-Mobile in the U.K).

Technically, we don’t know that the iPhone 5 will be available anywhere this year. Apple has yet to announce the phone, although rumors indicate that we’ll see an announcement of the handset this month, with a launch sometime in mid October. Sprint is also rumored to be included in the launch of the phone along with Verizon and AT&T.

What do you think? Are any of you upset that T-Mobile won’t be getting the iPhone? Do you think we’ll see a T-Mobile iPhone in 2012?
