Could a Google ad have let the cat out of the bag that the HTC Sensation is launching on June 8th?
Doing a search on Google last night for the HTC Sensation yielded the following Google AdWords advertisement according to TmoNews:
We’ve tried duplicating the ad result today, but despite numerous tries we have been unable to get the same ad to appear. There is no doubt that the ad did it exist, it just seems HTC realized the issue and removed it, not yet wanting to reveal the release date. Problem is, as TmoNews also points out, the official press shots for the new phone also showed “Wed, Jun 8” as the date on the handset’s screen. (see image below) Apparently it has been staring us in the face since the phone was officially announced earlier this month.
What we don’t know as of yet is if this date is the launch day for the United States or another region. One might assume it’s for the United States as it was someone in the country that saw the ad appear, but considering the ad has seemingly been pulled for going out to early, there is also every chance that they had it set for the wrong region as well.
An official release date is sure to be forthcoming in the not too distant future, and June 8th sounds as likely as any other, but I wouldn’t ask for the day off from work quite yet if this is the phone you’ve been waiting on.
