T-Mobile LG G-Slate 3D Tablet Hands-On
By Noah Kravitz | 3
LG and T-Mobile are showing off the T-Mo USA version of LG’s Optimus Pad here in Barcelona. The G-Slate is basically a T-Mobile branded Optimus Pad complete with 3D video capture and playback and a front-facing camera for video chat apps. T-Mobile reps showed me the tablet running non-final software, but it did include T-Mo branding on the startup screen and one T-Mo app installed on the unit. More T-Mo apps are likely to be included in the final version, but it sounds like the Android 3.0 OS and user experience won’t be altered in any significant way. T-Mobile has a history of heavily customizing some Android smartphones, like the myTouch 4G, but the Slate – as with all of the Honeycomb tablets shown so far this year – will be running stock Android.
