With the latest update to iTunes (currently 9.02), comes the welcome addition of Facebook and Twitter integration. You can now share your recommendations with your friends and followers, quickly and easily. So, how does it work?
In the past, users were able to manually share specific iTunes links by right clicking any given product title and choosing to ‘Copy iTunes Link’. This then meant that they could paste this link anywhere and format the message accordingly. That’s now even easier with iTunes 9.
To share any link to Twitter or Facebook, simply follow these steps.
If you’re browsing the iTunes store, each thumbnail will show an ‘info’ icon when you hover your mouse cursor over it. Clicking this info link will open up a new dialogue. Below is an example of ‘info’ button.
You’ll now be presented with a pop-up for the item that you selected, in this case, the latest Michael Jackson Album. Before buying anything from the iTunes store, you’ll now see a new purchase button, which includes additional options. By clicking the down arrow, you can see the new options for sharing. You can see an example of this below.
Now simply choose one of the options available, that’s all there is to it. It’s not always necessary to use the ‘info’ button, as the share feature is available when ever you see the drop down option. I’ve also taken the liberty of including examples of each sharing option in screen shots below.
